A Korean-speaking dentist in Melbourne’s south-east

Dr Mee Kim, our principal dentist, is a general dentist who speaks Korean. Dr Jasper Byun, who joins us on 22 October 2026, also speaks Korean. You can talk about your teeth, your health and your treatment in the language you’re comfortable with. Korean-language appointments are with Dr Kim or Dr Byun.

Booking an appointment in Korean

• Call (03) 9885 7588 and ask for an appointment in Korean with Dr Mee Kim.
• Or book online. If you want to be sure you’re booked with Dr Kim, call to confirm.
• Tell us if you’re in pain. Same-day appointments are often available. See emergency care.
• Booking for several family members? Let us know and we’ll try to book the visits close together.

Your treatment explained in Korean

At your appointment, Dr Kim can explain in Korean:

• what the examination and any X-rays show
• your treatment options, and the pros and cons of each
• the costs on your written quote, and what your health fund may pay
• what to expect during treatment, and how to look after your teeth afterwards

Some forms, quotes or aftercare sheets may be in English. Dr Kim can go through them with you in Korean before you sign anything.

If your treatment needs a referral to a specialist, Dr Kim can explain why and what happens next. The specialist practice may not offer Korean, so you may want to bring a family member to that visit.

Visits for the whole family

Parents and grandparents who prefer Korean can speak directly with the dentist, without a family member translating. Children are welcome too. Eligible children aged 0 to 17 can be bulk billed under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, with no out-of-pocket for eligible children under the CDBS. See children’s dentistry.

Our services include check-ups and cleans, fillings, crowns, dentures and implants. Ask when booking which treatments can be done with Dr Kim.

Health funds

We are a Bupa Members First Platinum, HCF More for Teeth and nib First Choice preferred provider, and eligible members may pay no gap on check-ups. We accept all health funds, including Medibank, ahm, CBHS and Australian Unity, claimed on the spot with HICAPS.

Common questions

Can I have my whole appointment in Korean?

Yes, when your appointment is with Dr Mee Kim. You can speak Korean with your dentist for the consultation, the treatment and any questions. Some paperwork may be in English, and Dr Kim can explain it in Korean before you sign.

Can I bring a family member with me?

Yes. Many people like to bring a partner, parent or adult child, especially for bigger treatment decisions. They can sit in with you, hear the options and ask their own questions.

Can my children see Dr Kim?

Children are welcome at our practice. Ask for Dr Mee Kim when you book. If your child is eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, tell us, and we can check eligibility before the visit.

What if Dr Kim isn’t available when I need to come in?

You can book Dr Kim’s next available time, or see Dr Mariana Habil in English. If you’re in pain, tell us when you call, and we’ll look for the quickest option for you.
